Regarding design #1
Good for the youth (perhaps - I am too old ), but must also appeal to the affluent ie the people with real money
Some more specifics of my overall project are below. I am happy to involve good entrants in the process and pay accordingly
Details are below:
[U]BRAND DRIVEN[/U]
Brands are king
Each brand needs to ooze its own image and yet look part of a mixCross applications
[B]SPORTS DRIVEN[/B]
We need self selection and application suitability. eg these glasses are suitable for fishing, golfing and boating etc use driven
Golf Range
Skiing Range
Paddling Range etc
Each type must have the best category management and
plannogramming in the region
We must learn how to:
Educate people that they need not one, not two, but 3 sets of sunglasses at a minimum
Educate people that different glasses do different things
That is: its not cool to wear surf brands in a suit !
Show independent tests
Talk the talk
Show good, better, best.
Show good value for money
Show we are in the brand business and, convey the different personalities of those brands
Sell open stock without the theft
Drive emotion
Sell glasses on line
Easy to select - what suits me?
Technology based
Be wonderfully impulsive
The store must me totally adaptable to suit all genders, ages, demographics and countries.
It must also appeal to two uniquely different groups - fashion and sports
The Fitout
Must include provisions for a stand alone store, kiosk and store within store.
It must be modular, flexible and efficiently inexpensive to enable bulk production locally as well as throughout the world - or, in one location such as China, Mexico or India.
Therefore it must be efficient to transport, robust and pliable.
Bulk production should include more than just joinery. It should encompass the procurement of other materials including bulkheads,floor coverings, lighting ( must be to code) and ideally signage, graphics and merchandising aids.
The Message
Must be vibrant, inviting, not intimidating. Appeal to sports enthusiasts and fashion guns alike. In fact it need so create fashion guns out of sports enthusiasts and visa versa.
Everything about this store from its staff, its point of sale, its ambience, its product needs to ooze sex appeal and be a revolution in the retailing of fashion and sports eyewear
It must sell !
