Brief Summary

Logo to be used on the webshop pages and in creating digital marketing material. Should also be able to use in print on business cards letterheads ect.

We also want an professional looking design pattern or graphic to be used as part of the graphic identity of our company. Could be used for example on the backside of a business card or in in the background of a webpage etc. Se Complete Brief for links to some examples of what I mean.

    Regarding size I would prefer the logo to be in a vector based format that is resizable without pixelation issues. Still I guess the level of detail has some impact on how small you could shrink it and still make out the parts.

    I guess the normal size to use it would be something like 200 by 50 pixels but looking great is more important than size.

    Great I am currently just using a 450x450 background and creating the logo, so 200 x 50 should be fine, as pixelation only happens when you increase the size! :D

    Shee91: On the size-issue, i know most quality artefacts are introduced when sizing up, some things can start to look funny if you size it down TOO much also if there is not enough pixles to represent all the detaild parts, isn't it? Anyways we probably won't use many different sizes but it would be good to be able to scale up to do some posters if other larger print if we would be on a fair or have some other kind of sales/marketing event sometime in the future.

    To everyone! Thank you very much for your submissions so far. Several look nice and there are a couple I find very promising. Here are some general thought so far:

    1. I've found that the kind of fonts used by ulaths entry #279572 and vitmarys #279372 appeal to me more than more thin times new roman like fonts or sticky narrow once or swirly handwriting kind of fonts at least so far.

    2. I do think that it is better for a logo to be distinct and easy to read and that clarity and simplicity is generally a good thing and that the logo stands out in a way rather than blending into the background.

    3. I beleive that too much of blends/fades and shadowing or too many shades of colour or may make a logo less easy to use in some situations. However I can't deny that I am attracted to some colour.

    4. Even though I do like green and leaves, and it may very well be a entry like that which is declared winner in the end. It would be nice also to see some more alternativs with other colors and images. If only to be a bit different from many competitors of which many use exactly different shades of green and leaves or vines. Obviously there's a reason for that so like I said it might come to that in the end allthough if it is possible to find something equally good but more unique would be really cool.

    By the way, I have seen some other companies logos and patterns that I think look good, I wonder if I should supply them here in some way just for inspiration or if that would be bad and limiting the creative thought process. Obviously we don't want something too similar since those companies are partners, competitors and part of the ideá with the graphic profile is to stand out from the rest of the market. What do you think? See them or not?

    Well this contest is ending tomorrow (by swedish time anyway) we have got quite a few good entries that we like and consider. I'm going to bed now but I'll try to feedback the rest after breakfast tomorrow, Including any new entries coming in before the contest closes. And after the contest is closed we'll announce the winner.     Oh and obviously copying someone elses work is not appreciated since we want something that is at least fairly unique for our brand. I'll have to look in to all accusations and if I find them to be true or too similar to some other existing logo (whether intentionally or not) I'll have to disregard those entries. But I hope it's all just missunderstandings.
