I hate to say it but the biggest factor for the failure of this contest is your (RHMF) reluctance to keep up with feedback and
YOUR responsibility to discourage novice designers that post the "PowerPoint" designs, as you say, from entering. If you think it is getting carried away with the amateurish designs, you are the one responsible for:
1. modifying the brief to better outline the criteria for your design
2. eliminate the designs from consideration and politely ask the ones that don't have to skills to not submit another entry.
(what a novel concept that most CH's should consider using)
3. possibly make this an invitation only contest and make that VERY CLEAR in your brief. The ultimate responsibility for the failure of contests definitely rests on the CH and not on the designers. Success is predicated on
your timely feedback and clear directions with the brief and feedback. If you are not happy with the results, you have only yourself
to blame. I really liked how you ran the Mouthwatering Media and JamsBy contests but this one was not run as smoothly and the results
show. Personally, I would have contacted haetro, the winner of the JamsBy contest, to ask them to do this separately and not held a
contest for this one since they are so similar. -

you should atleast pony up and give half the prize money to one of the designs you liked the best out of all these entries.. the time and thought spent is worth that much. can you atleast award half the prize money to someone?? that would be fair. Thanks

All
Thank you to all who contributed their ideas and hard work to this contest. And thank you for being patient with us as we struggled with our decision. We have decided not to choose a winner of this contest. I'm sure many will be disappointed, but so are we. While we've used Sitepoint for several other successful contests, we didn't find a logo that we felt was suitable. Although there were some good designs, the overall quality seemed at bit "PowerPoint" like in terms of design. Now I'm sure I'll get a lot of feedback for that comment, but it's how I/we felt. There just wasn't that "one" design that we connected with, so after much internal effort to declare a "winner" we had to face up and finally announce that we couldn't select one.
