Regarding design #1
Thanks for the prompt reply to the posting,
I like the horizontal lay out, and the
reflection. However it would probably make
it easier for potential users to locate the
site if the web address is included.
Maybe making edx.com.au as the main theme
then with subscript Engineers & Drafters
Exchange or the other way round, I am going
to leave it to you as I am not a designer.
Thanks and keep up the great work.

thanks! update comingg up next

hows thiis?
Submitted design #5
with the tagline.
Regarding design #4
Great work I love the shine and the reflection
it is a graphics master piece. Having said that
it would fit a well know global company like fedEx
very well, but for a small company we kind of need some annotation in explaining the meaning of EDX. (on the basis of not cluttering up the design and bring the message through) Also, could we try different background colour just to have a feel what it would look like if applied in a different environment.
Regarding design #5
Great work, but to someone new, they probably would
wonder which industry the logo is for, I know it will clutter up the logo, try to see if there is anyway of telling people which industry this is for without cluttering the logo.
Thanks and keep up the great work.
Submitted design #6
with complete information :)
Submitted design #8
darken the logo text to make it more stand out
Submitted design #11
shrunken down the EDX to level the logotext
Regarding design #5
thanks, see below for updates
Regarding design #8
Yeah, I like this logo.
having said that there
are always places we can
make it better.
because our name Engineers & Drafters Exchange are very long words, the way you placed them is clean cut
but is there anyway of making them more symmetircal without making them looking awkward. And the tag line is hardly visible, maybe try darker colour or larger font but not overpowering the main theme.
Thanks,
Regarding design #9
Similar comments as above,
the grey colour tagline seems
invisible with the grey background.
(even the white writing in the
blue background is hard to read)
And the EDX with the dark blue back ground,
seems to lack depth from loosing the shade
and shine, is it something that can be improved
on?
Thanks
Regarding design #11
Good call, certainly makes the design more
streamlined,
Thanks
Regarding design #8
right thannks for the comments, updte coming up
Regarding design #9
right let's see for next update :) thanks for the comments
Regarding design #9
maybe the resolution of the screen is not as good,
I'll print them out using laser printer on monday.

Submitted design #40
horizontal compact. i also include the blue background and black and notice both still look good and readable with all white or the D remains orange. it degrades gracefully even in one color/black white
Regarding design #40
I like it,
one thing though, I am trying to bring
the files to my office for the laser printer
on monday but am having trouble with the image
it just came up blurred, is there anything I can
do?
Regarding design #41
Good work,
am trying to print the thing on monday so I can compare with your other designs.
Thanks,
Regarding design #40
Don't worry about the image thing, I figured it out (I think)
Regarding design #40
probably the browser, click on the image one more to zoom it to it's true size
Regarding design #41
right thank you for that, i mean i don't have laser printer so i can't show it to you here ...
Submitted design #43
and update on the icon EDX, notice it is more balance now, and witth new layout ofcourse. also looks good in monotone color and small scale (bottom right)
Submitted design #44
other variation on the icon EDX, with the new layout. still looks good in monotone and small scale :)
Regarding design #43
i know it's not the ampersand sign, but it reads the same, and it looks better i think :)
Regarding design #41
Hi Wolv,
at this stage your logo clearly stands out, as commented by people in the industry.
some comments I've got were the small size of .com.au
behind the EDX, I gathered the views that since web based service is a major part of the business, the .com.au could be much bigger in this design, I am not sure how the logo would look like if the .com.au are as big as EDX or 1/2 the size or 1/4 the size, or some graphics for the .com.au if it gets too big or something to make it not overpower the EDX somehow.
The other comment I got was the use of Tagline, maybe there is just too much info for the logo. What I am trying to say is to take out the tagline and make .com.au larger. (The above comment is for this layout on the left only)
The contest will end early if everything works out.
Thank you sooo much for the effort you've put in.
Regarding design #43
I like the layout very much, just with the same comment as second layout, the major issue here is the small size of .com.au. I was told the .com.au was missed out by almost everyone who saw the logo, I am thinking maybe we could use the empty space in second layout for the .com.au, please see second layout for comment.
Thanks
Regarding design #44
Looks great too, just the same comment as second layout, the .com.au is too small and missed my many.
Thanks, and keep up the great work :)
Regarding design #41
thank you for the feedback, i'll update the design as requested. Thanks :)
Submitted design #51
bigger .com .au and with no tagline. using title case for the logotext. looks good.
Submitted design #52
now this one with uppercase logotext, looks more compact. my personal choice for layout is this one :)
Submitted design #53
the other icon with new layout.
Submitted design #54
i want to show the logo in full effect, shine and reflection.
Submitted design #55
full effect for the other icon
Submitted design #56
well this one still have the tagline, made the .com.au bigger on the left side. i think it still visible
Regarding design #52
I like this design most at this stage,
Just a few little things.
First, what's the reason for using "and" instead of "&", is it easier for the graphics length?
Second, when printed out in large picture, the .com.au seems to be afraction of a millimeter higher from the base line set by EDX
Third, would I be able to have a set of them with (R) the little circle with R inside it instead of the TM
(but keep a copy of the TM for now)
Cheers
Regarding design #56
please see feed back in Entry: with upper case
Thanks
Regarding design #52
Hello, thank you very much for the feedback. umm sounds silly but i was copy pasteing the old entry. i can turn the "and" to the ampersand sign, it will make the letters a little bit bigger and readable since i have to adjust the length.
i can also fix the "uplifted" .com.au (it's an error from mine).
i can provide the registered mark. thx
update coming soon :)
Submitted design #87
aligned .com.au, bigger logotext and using ampersand, also a preview using registered mark
Submitted design #88
this is for the other icon, with the same update
Regarding design #88
This is a great design, but
I like the orange D better than this one :P
Thanks
Regarding design #87
Thank you for the change,
I am going to print it in super large size today to see how it goes.
One other thing, I know this is going to be Vector Graphics file, but not sure if it still maintains the sharpness if it is blown up to Extremly large banner size, for example something in the order of 4m in length?

Regarding design #87
Actually, try 10m in length, just in case if it goes to the top of big buildings ;P
Thanks
Regarding design #87
you can resize vector in any size including 10m in length without loosing its quality. but you should do it using the vector source, not this one, this one is the rendered jpeg.
Regarding design #87
Hi wolv,
I am going to close the contest,
and it looks like you have won,
just before the winner is awarded,
would you be able to do a
few little things..
first, I would like to keep this
design, but hope to have a few more
different background colours, like
black, red, and green, just in case
if it is needed to be printed on
those colours in the future.
Second, would we be able to have
a copy of full effects on all the
different background colours mentioned
above.
Third, could we have a faded version of
all of them, in case if it is used as letter
background.
Fourth, the registered symbol seems a little
bit too big, (Not sure what size other people
are using). could we make it a bit smaller?
Fifth, would you be able to send a sample using
the format the final file will be in, just to
see the compatibility with my computer software.
Thanks, and congradulations :P

Regarding design #98
Thank you Wolv :)
It doesn't matter that much, but if possible could we have a slightly darker green to bring out the contrast just a little bit more :) thats all, will write the rest in email :P
Thanks,

oookay!
