Now for your feedback:
This is a very different design and we like it! You've experimented well with the colors, hierarchy in design and have applied the nice, simple look that we're after. Great job! Instead of highlighting the "uu" section, we see that you've gone your own way and have applied a little something to the 2 d's ;)) Nice. However, try and compare it to Zippo logo, the American lighter manufacturer. It's got that flame effect and it could collide.
Try playing around with it, otherwise... well done. We'll keep this one for all to see and learn.

Thank you for such a great feedback, i enjoy entering contests like this, where the ch actually provides constructive feedback. Regarding logo, 2 d's in the design were supposed to illustrate crayons.

first of all... excellent work for all! I've had just a quick breeze through the revisions and they look good. I'll start one by one though.
this idea is good, but with the tips of crayons and using crayons overall (after thinking about it), kind of goes into another area: kids based
For this reason and to keep the look and feel for the design fun and professional, I've mentioned to a few to try markers instead as they're used by professionals and all. Here are some links which you can use for this:

<< awesome! I've been telling people on here to check out one another's work for ideas on whats been working and what hasn't and as a result, I can see where people hit at (in terms of arty icons and ideas like this one). It has mainly been markers, people, ink, blocks etc. People see this, people know this and it makes them really get into the core of the design and start exploring further options. You've done this with this design. The font has been used throughout this design a couple of times, and a marker or pencil have been present, but creating tips of pencils or markers on the end of each letter is a different idea. It's simple, does the job in terms of conveying what it stands for and i really like it! Good stuff :)) I'll let you know of changes later on, once i play around with it.

I've started the judging process on this contest and i won't be able to except this based on the following:
- it has been compared to other designs still in contention and it does not work based on what i've stated in the public comment box (please refer to this)
- Entries are still open and revisions can be done,but it will be really hard. I'm leaving your above entry for revisions because I actually quite like it. I'll get back to you on the changes soon.

Hi DGTL... I'm back with more feedback :)
As I've mentioned in the comment box up front, I've started the judging on the top featured logos. These logos will/have been compared to one another, been tested on sample stationary layouts etc. Here's a simple business card mock-up for you to see: http://www.imagehosting.com/show.php/1162762_eg.jpg.html
It's been tested in terms of placement and for some reason it isn't working well. I think it could be the use of multiple colors and the selection that has been the issue. It definielty portrays fun and creativity, but there's no professional side to it. It doesn't have to be full on professional, just a little tweak ought to do it i think. Any ideas on this?
Also, can we please try have the BETA curved around the top side of the a? Like a side shot, as it will be removed after it finishes its purpose for the testing phase. In terms of colors, lets try the letters "d,d & a" in a nice cool grey and the uu's in one green and one blue. Please refer to other designs for this. The last thing is probably adding the zig zag effect on the tip of the pencils base, when they get sharpened and expose the bottom skin.

This is a nice design, but it feels like there's a bit of a shadow around it?? is there?? If there is, please remove it as it makes the text a bit blurry from a far. I'll have to remove it for now

Awesome work! You've done really well on this and i can say you're in the top 3 for this! I've looked through the design/s and have compared; and have added a few color upgrades myself.
