We've done a bit of research and unfortunately the Red Cross Symbol is probably the "most" protected symbol/emblem in use today. It is protected not just by copyright law, but international law and the Geneva Conventions as well. It is meant to solely and unquestionably identify international humanitarian aid organizations in times of war, conflict and disaster. It was authorized by the Geneva conventions in the late 1800's. They are very tough about enforcing it to keep the symbol pure, recognizable and undiluted in it's meaning. Every country bound by those conventions is to have a voluntary aid force that is recognized and identified by that symbol. No variation of it can be used. The very first web-site I clicked on was a pamphlet put out by the International Red Cross explaining all of this because it's use is so staunchly protected. We are really bummed to learn this because it really seemed to work well for our logo. Sorry but we won't be using any of the logos with the Red Cross. Thanks for the information Panama.

    Red&Black looks too aggressively.

Thanks for the suggestion about the Red Cross. I will have to research this a bit more before I make a decision.

As a suggestion I would avoid every single logo that has a red cross somewhere on it, I know it's used differently but The Red Cross is EXTREMELY defensive about the red cross part, there's been a lot of lawsuits over it.
