Regarding design #67
This is fantastic. Somehow the logo takes over the name here, which I actually like, especially after reflecting on what you wrote earlier. Of these two (#4 and #5), #5 is better for me. They seem to be identical except that the right arm of the starfish on 5 reaches toward the S, incorporating more of itself into the whole logo.
I suppose what you're saying is that, if we wanted, we could pull out the interconnected starfish logo part and use it as a separate identity. Or, more likely, the entire word with the incorporated logo would become the logo itself. That's fine too. This "brand" will probably be sold someday to a larger company anyway. We just have to grow it up to be adolescent in the meantime.

I think you as the client have to determine whether you are going to the use the STAR as your regcognizable logo, if you want the typography to be dominant or if you want a mix of both, which it seems like everyone has submitted. What is nice with this site is if you are unsure, you can look at all of the entries and decide. I feel that the star is such a strong icon that it can reprensent you alone. However, I do not know everything about your business nor the direction you are moving to. I think that if you look at all the entries, the ones with the stars stand out the most !
If you were to go with a mix / typography dominated, I don't believe many entries have strong typography, that in the end could give STARFISH a unique identity.
I will submitt an entry with a smaller star for you to see. The thing I like about this star also, is that it has meaning. The pieces to the star are all interlocked and connect to make 1 larger STARFISH, much like your company would be. You're several branches will connect together to form in the end, your company.
;)

Thanks for the submission. You didn't comment on the relative size between the starfish symbol and the text size. Do you think it's about right? Any other possibilities to consider there?
I like Entry 1 the best. The background color, at this point, is relevant in that it highlights the possibilities showing off the logo.

A third arrangement with the off-white background and added color. A more professional feel.
