Is this contest just for the design of the Homepage? I can't see your interior pages working with most of the decent homepage designs you'll see here...

sawyeredge : I see you have a lot to say in regards to the contests on sitepoint in various other contests but I don't seem to see you entering any do you some how feel
that the only way that you can be taken seriously by any designer and contest holder here in sitepoint is to criticize others buy the statement"Is this contest just for the design of the Homepage? I can't see your interior pages working with most of the decent homepage designs you'll see here"
as this is the fourth contest I have seen your comments shown a negative light on the contests I suggest you put up or keep your comment to yourself if you are not entering the contest.
Now don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with asking questions and give feedback on contests but what has made me write this is if you don't enter the contest keep the comments to yourself
regards

In response to this comment: Now don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with asking questions and give feedback on contests but what has made me write this is if you don't enter the contest keep the comments to yourself regards
I haven't entered into any contests yet because I haven't found any that offer a prize that is worth my time. I work full time as a professional web designer/programmer and also perform freelance work in graphic/web design. I have been working in web design for 12 years. When a contest asks for 10 hours worth of work and offers a prize of $250, then it isn't worth my time. Understand? That's also the reason you see so many of the users on SitePoint who also design professionally entering only the contests that offer a significant prize. Like them, I can tell what kind of work is required by a specific project, and I know what my time is worth.
I ask questions to get a better grasp of what the client seeks, to get clarification on ambiguous and non-stated points that inexperienced contest holders/designers here do not realize are necessary and relevant, to better understand if I should attempt a project and for the benefit of those considering entering. If you had any legitimate professional design experience then you'd realize the question I asked in this particular contest is relevant, and important. Whether this contest requires only the design of the homepage, or additional pages is the difference between two hours of work and four or more hours of work. And $259 is not worth four or more hours of my time, which is why I asked the question. For clarification. The brief states the company needs a new "website" but does not state what pages are expected for the project. Sorry, but the pages that are to be included is sort of "need-to-know" information when designing a website. In fact, at any legitimate design firm it's stated in the contract the client signs. I can't believe you'd enter a contest without a clear understanding of what amount of work is expected of you if you win.
When I find a contest that offers a prize suitable to the amount of work involved, them I'll enter. Until then, there is no rule that says I need to be entered in a contest to ask questions of the contest holder. Once you've been burned a few times, you're learn that in this industry, asking questions, getting specifics, and understanding all parameters of a project are important and necessary aspects of the design process. This is a public forum. If you don't like what others have to say, then that's your problem.
I'd request an answer from the contest holder regarding my question, but at this point it's too late in the game.
