Just on color: when I suggested "red, orange, blue and grey" I didn't mean that *all* these colours had to be used. I suggested those colors because they're used pretty consistently across the logos at the urls mentioned in the design brief. I guessed that maybe there's a reason that this subset of colours gets used, but really you are free to work with any color you like - just not too many at once.

You don't have to bother with favicon.ico in the first entry or while developing a concept but at some point it'd be nice to see what the logo looks like as a favicon.ico. For an example, see the little icon on the left hand side of the browser location bar in scythe's first entry:

I'm sorry but I have to comment on this, as I've just found this section of the SitePoint forums. I think that posting a "design contest" for cheap and free work is pathetic. Your cheapening our industry. We work our asses off, we went to school to learn this trade and we consider ourselves professionals. It is really insulting to any good designer. Clients be wary as you get what you pay for. Flame me, say what you will but I know that any good professional designer would never stoop to cheesy design contests - Lets thank the cheap ass clients!

Sitepoint and other sites that do this should be ashamed of themselves for offering this section!

See what real Designers and Professionals in the industry have to say about it!

    * and if your a designer doing this....I think you should know that NO GOOD will come of it...if your just a student or "trying to break into the industry" Visit the Design forum linked above and learn how to be a real design professional. You don't need to stoop down to this!

By "working with" I just meant that I was asking about copyright+payment.

Should have provided more feedback but hey, this is my first contest.

Thanks for participating - like I said, some great entries!
