If possible, try to use the colors scheme found at http://s214622969.onlinehome.us
Several entries are on the right track in the class aspect, but are lacking the kid-friendly
component. While we don't want it to become cheesy, we would like it to be appealing
to students in the 6-14 year old age range. Also, we really would prefer if it did not have chess pieces in the lettering (ACI), but if
you can conveniently place a nice chess graphic (cafemocha's entry #2 is on the right
track here) then that would be great. Finally, the best logo would have a color scheme that matches with the website http://s214622969.onlinehome.us
BUT would also have some kind of component (color, graphic, ect) that would demonstrate
the "American" aspect of our company.- User

In keeping it simple, we don't want the logo to in any way seem "arrogant." However, if you can keep it simple and also add some level of prestige- that would be great. As we have produced several national champions in the past few years, we would love if our logo could have some sort of simple graphic that sets it apart in prestige.

Just saying you want the colors from your site isn't enough.
There are several colors on there that, quite frankly, don't
go well togetther in an eye pleasing sense. If you want to match a particular palette, elt us know exeactly
what colors you require.- User

http://www.crapinabox.net/I'm sorry but I have to comment on this, as I've just found this section of the SitePoint forums. I think that posting a "design contest" for cheap and free work is pathetic. Your cheapening our industry. We work our asses off, we went to school to learn this trade and we consider ourselves professionals. It is really insulting to any good designer. Clients be wary as you get what you pay for. Flame me, Ban me site point if you feel that my free speech interferes with your website...Please, say what you will but I know that any good professional designer would never stoop to cheesy design contests - Lets thank the cheap ass clients!
Sitepoint and other sites that do this should be ashamed of themselves for offering this section!
See what real Designers and Professionals in the industry have to say about it!
http://www.graphicdesignforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29824* and if your a designer doing this....I think you should know that NO GOOD will come of it...if your just a student or "trying to break into the industry" Visit the Design forum linked above and learn how to be a real design professional. You don't need to stoop down to this!
