for the contest [US$250 Uncoded Template] Horse Stud / Showjumping Team
Submitted design #2
I took all of the feedback that you gave and made appropriate changes based on them. I got rid of the stylish text on the left side navigation so that you can use your CMS to insert text there. I'm assuming that's what you wanted?
To make the layout more "elegant" and take away from the content area, some, I gave the design a glossy look. I added some gradients and other little things here-and-there.
*This version has the background with horse-riding photographs.*

I have made changes in both color and sizes of things in my design. I stretched the height of the image so that you can see how the whole "About Us" page would look.

Exellent job, henry187 :)

Thanks! =)

I took out the dashes, like you asked. Instead of making the cell backgrounds dark (I didn't like the look of the dark backgrounds), I made them a little darker/closer to the title area's color. The cells containing the names were made even darker to help distinguish them.
Regarding design #5
Perfect :)

Thanks. =)

I moved the truck artwork area a bit so that I could move the content area up. The content area overlaps the blue, but it had to in order for the blue area to exist with the content moved up. I also shrunk the size of the gray curve on the left, and stretched the content area to add more space for text.
Regarding design #8
I think that the gap between the right of the menu and the left of the content area was fine... it's the distance from the top that was a slight issue. That being said, I don't like the overlap at the top.
I think having another look at the truck image might help solve the problem - http://www.kolorastud.com.au/images/bigtruck.jpg
Perhaps you could reduce the decline of the three curvy things, as per the truck? It's up to you :)
Regarding design #8
Ok, thanks. I'm working on flattening the grey and blue curves at the top to help fix the overlapping issue.
Submitted design #11
I messed with some little things here-and-there. Hopefully you like the upper blue curve better now. I also added links to the bottom of the page and changed the font-color of the information in the table (and formatted the style a bit).
Regarding design #11
Nah, I have to say that I definitely prefered the larger grey curve around the menu. Unfortunately, I feel that reducing the size of the three curves has really taken away from the feel of design.
You've given me a thought though - could you please post version 1.9 with the footer links added, but the URL and "kolora stud is 50 acres..." pagagraph removed
Regarding design #11
Woops, this was supposed to say "Version 1.10 - Revised". Yeah, I'll go do that.
Regarding design #11
Oh the refection off the title looks nice too!
Submitted design #12
I did as you asked. Personally, without the text in the top-left, I think it looks a little too empty - but that might just be me.
Regarding design #12
I agree, but leave this with me and I will see what my client thinks - this will save you and I from thinking too hard!
Regarding design #12
Ok. ;)
Regarding design #12
Just to be a pain! Could you please move the content area back to it's original position, so as to increase the gap between the left of the content area and the right of the menu.
Also, on second thoughts, could you remove the title's reflection. Sorry!
Submitted design #14
I did as you asked. Here you go. (Though, I miss the reflection.)
Regarding design #14
The reflection worked very nicely on the white background, but as it passed over the blue curve it looked a bit average in my books.
Thanks very much, now please hang up your mouse now before you get a RSI in your wrist! I'll let you know what my client had to say in about 18 hours :)
Regarding design #14
Nahhh, I'm still busy working different concepts for your design. I'm very determined and motivated towards this project. ;) I look forward to reading what your client has to say about my layouts, though.

This is a remake of the overall design of versions 1-10. I wanted to try and fixate the page to show a little more towards the content area and not so much pushing it away. However! - I wanted to keep the truck design in the layout, so applied it in a different way.
All of the links at the top will be replaced with your own text (they're Verdana, so they're web-safe).
Oh, and I found a way to sneak the reflection in while hopefully still making it look good. ;)
Regarding design #17
I'm sorry henry187, but I don't like this version. It just doesn't appeal to me like the others did. Feedback wise, I would say that it is because the design itself is too dark - the content area is the only part that shines out, whereas in your other designs it was the artwork that stood out to me first, then the content area.
Entry 16 has been your standout design so far :)
Regarding design #17
Sorry, that was meant to be entry 17, not 16!
Regarding design #17
Oh, ok; well thanks for letting me know. =)
