for the contest Logo for environmental company
Submitted design #26
Hello, sorry for the late entry, I only stumbled upon this site today at work and got to work on this as soon as I got home :)
The concept behind it is the collection and rention of CO2 in the ground by these trees - carbon sequestration. It's a little rushed and I'd love to play around with different ideas and perhaps 'grunge' it up a little, but if I spend anymore time on it this evening I'll never get up for work tomorrow!
Made in Illustrator CS, it is a completely scalable vector.

Thanks for your submission!! This is well designed and very interesting. Thanks for thinking outside the box. You are biting SumixMedia's style a little bit with the font in the bottom version, but I can't blame you, it looks great like that. I also like the way you have placed the "The" and "Inc" in the top version.
Get some sleep. I think I'm going to extend the length of the contest so that we have some time to ask for minor revisions from the winner.
My first thought was that your design looks like a lamp. It might look better if you use a straight tree trunk, then draw the ground, then draw the carbon bubbles underneath. Drop the rounded bits hang down around the bubbles. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for the feedback! I see where you're coming from, especially with the font, but that's the exact way I'd have done it too, enhancing the interesting words in the name and pushing the mandatory ones back.
I don't quite get what you mean with "Drop the rounded bits hang down around the bubbles." If you could explain that for me I'll do some more variations later with that in mind.
I've been working on some this morning, I'm trying to stop the logo from becoming too big, as there's already quite a bit of length x and y and from what I've tried, the land tends to look like a set of arms when added so that's something I'll be trying to get around.

Hey, by "drop" I mean "get rid of". I was thinking you could have a tree, a regular horizontal ground line, then the bubbles underneath the ground.
Submitted design #36
A revised version, taking on what you said, and a few sketches playing on the "C" and "F".
I decided to go for a simplified root rather than add the ground element after as I thought the horizontal line could look a bit too formal and not blend in with the rest of the design. I left the underside of the roots as a semi circular shape to give the impression that it is the trees that do the work of 'catching' the bubbles rather than them just be there in the soil by default with the tree making no difference.
Can I ask what the company will be trying to do?
Cheers

PS. Don't worry about the withdrawn entry, it was the same as this only not quite how I wanted it ;)

Eyecandy :) could possibly be used as some sort of seal or alternative logo?

Thanks for the revisions. Very nice. This is being added to our top choices for consideration.

Interesting. Thanks for thinking to add something like this.

I had a sudden burst of inspiration... this one's based on a carbon molecule.

Hey, this is cool. You're full of ideas! I think we have chosen a winner though.
