I experimented with some colors and in my opinion the blue and silver/grey look good together, I gave you some choices here for the text, top one is normal, middle has a bevel effect and bottom has a double tint with a stroke around it,

I just couldn't resist, I tried to tweak the logo to look even better,
here is what I came up with, both use the same colors, but notice the slight gradient going in opposite directions of both, thought? thanks!

Sorry mate, don't mean to clutter up this contest with my ideas, I just want to make sure you will get what you want. Here I made some key revisions, primarily making the blueprint lowercase to match the icon, moving the software inc to the right and lightening up the gray in the icon for a better contrast, also gave you a look with the icon above and a slight drop shadow on the circle, let me know which design you prefer, thanks!

dont appologise mate. improvements are always welcome. i think the changes you've made have improved the logo so thanks - the increased contrast and the right alignment of the bottom text. i think i slightly prefer the second one down
