    try to make use of the element of 'heat' in the logo. Cooking consists of four fundamentals
    -analysis
    - ingredients
    -preparation
    -heat

    In essence preparation and heat need to work together, but the understanding and control of heat ultimately creates a good cook.

    Try to experiment with heat coming from the o and such.

    For iconography, try to avoid question marks (?). Lets stick with kitchen utensils with some minimalist design if possible

    Try to make a unique logo playing with 'howcookingworks' itself. I think a key degree here is an element of uniqueness. #5 and #25 are good examples of this. For example

    Try to avoid:
    icon + howcookingworks.com

    or
    howcookingworks.com + icon

    try to meld your icon into the 'howcookingworks.com' branding.

    #5 is nice because of the uniqueness of the four burners.

    #25 is nice with the play on the question mark and pan.

    Additional important note:

    The logo should be able to resonante with someone just beginning to learn how to cook. Remember that the site is geared mainly towards first time cooks with some intimidation in the kitchen, who want to learn something.

    So imagine the following situation. You are a noobie in the kitchen and want to learn cooking fundamentals. You go to www.howcookingworks.com and watch this video

    The logo should capture you, and be somewhat relevant.

    To do a litmus test if how well you think your logo is doing, think in the eyes of these consumers.

    So from some evolving guidelines...

    Try not to use a chef's hat. It usually implies the working in a kitchen.

    For iconography the usage of ? and kitchen utensils have been really good.

    For playing around with the 'o' becareful of making it look like an eye.

    Good job everybody so far though!
