  5. xuamox(contest holder),
    I do realize that this contest is offering a decent cash prize for the winner, but in this please do remember that all of the participants are taking there own time out to accomodate with your needs, and in return constructive feedback is nowhere to be found. Your comments are unadaptable and disgracious... maybe the reason you seek so much "class" in your logo is because of your own "lack of".

  8. I apologize if i seem short and brief in my feedback - but it's hard to keep on top of 150 plus entries. We are doing our best to review all entries and evaluate them as a team. I have been surprised by how many people have not taken the time to read the brief carefully, or look at the sample links that we have provided. It get's frustrating after seeing 20 entries that do not adhere to the design brief. So far Ella Z has the best entries - here is a designer that took the time to read the brief and do some excellent executions!

    Your contest is very interesting. However, I wish to clarify a few things. You seem to be so inclined towards the entries of Ella Z. I admit that it is a fantastic design and she deserves all the credit. But, as a contestant, I have a doubt that all other designers are wasting their time on working for your design. Since you seem to be already moving towards finalizing the design, there is no point in dragging on the competition for 7 more days. You don't seem to be open to ideas of other designs also, some of which I feel, are really innovative. So, what I would suggest is to stop the contest at this point and announce Ella Z as the winner. She truly is. There is no point in asking others to design something like her's because no creative designer would like to copy someone else's works. I hope you understand. Please act immediately.

  10. Your initial brief you wanted a Vogue, InStyle look. Both of these are only fonts, no icons. So entries worked on providing a stylish sans-serif font to compliment your current website. They read your brief.

    When changes were made to your brief to include other styles and icons, this information was not provided in the discussion area to alert entries to the changes. Instead the entries are criticized for not following your brief, when in fact they did follow the original brief.

    To be honest, there have been alot of WOW designs from several designers. But you shut them down. As a designer myself I would want a logo that stood out, attracted attention, and rememberable, not one where the colors blend into the background.

  14. WIth all due respect, xuamox. While it is nice that you are actually NOT disqualifying entries as much. Saying "thanks" isn't enough. People aren't submitting just to have an entry you actually DON'T disqualify. We submit at an attempt to win, and we can't do that if you leave such non-specific feedback that doesn't state what you would like to see in the logo. You need to start steering us more into the direction you want so that we may get closer to the logo you will consider perfect for your company. But not giving constructive feedback makes us just take wild stabs at this contest, which will lead nowhere. For anybody, and the winner will be someone who was lucky enough to GUESS exactly what it is that you are looking for exactly.

  17. waytogo, thats exactly what I was following, the brief. I went for font only designs as it was "clear" in the brief to begin with that this is what they were looking for. When this obviously wasn't enough for them, I simply stopped. I've been around long enough now to know when it's not worth my time to continue, and it was obvious to me that this was one of those times. Designers, please be more careful, when a contest holder changes directions several times, be wary.

  18. I think in general that this contest will have no end. $500 for logo is too much. And the xuamox's attitude to mywedding.com is ununderstandable... There is nothing worse than resellers in creative sphere...

  19. I dont think that $500 is too much for a good logo some pay upwards of $100.000.00 or more for a good brand depending on the business. I do think that in this type of situation it is hard to determine the outcome when there are so many of the designs are the same. That is why this is a contest not a single for hire situation.

    Thanks for all the entries, all the comments, and your patience. As you know, reviewing and giving feedback on over 350 logos is not easy - it takes more time than we have. We had no idea we would get so many entries. So if our feedback has been brief or short - i apologize, we are doing the best to get back to everyone. If we say thanks, it means we like your stuff, and it's up for consideration.

    As far as picking a winner, we are still in the process of doing that. We have a team of four people reviewing the logos and voting on which ones to keep and which one's to eliminate from the competition. We should have the winner picked tomorrow.

    Again, thanks for your submissions. Every submission has been useful in helping, inspiring, and pushing the quality of the competition to a higher level.

    I can' tell you how refreshing it is to get such a wide range of ideas and entries. Having worked with traditional design firms in the past, i can tell you that this contest process has been very positive for us - much broader range of samples than you could ever get from a design firm.

    I dont think of the question "What if you dont win?", as you said. I always put my best foot forward, so making custom fonts, or modifying fonts is always ok for me.
