one other thing- we've decided the colors are probably green for DE, blue for RE and the red that's in www.friday5s.com for F5s although the green blue and orange play much better together, we've got to keep some brand equity for our current clients that know Friday5s and associate it with red.
no need to change anything- just a note for any last minute entries.

just want to acknowledge all the work that you have put in here. there are some great designs and we are incredibly appreciative that you've supported us in seeing the vision and making it a reality. This will be a difficult choice given the number of clean, stylish, iconic designs.
thank you all and have a fantastic holiday weekend,

Thanks to everybody who contributed some great additional designs.
I like #42 a lot as it offers both a icon and the product name. It is clean and conveys a sense of motion - although as an old financial guy, I wish the letters sloped up and to the right (the way we hope the new designs will drive revenue) but that may spoil the look.
#41, #40, and #39 have a bit too much of a generic look for me personally.
I appreciate all the work that has gone into the development cuminating in #38 and #36, but I think the icons are just a bit too funky for our somewhat staid management team and some of our more "old school" clients. Probably not worth developing this theme further as we are unlikely to select it.
#33 is tempting; like the interesting icons, but they do not convey quite the same sense of energy as I get from #42. Similar impression of #30, #32 - they feel a bit "static."
Continue to like the bold clean look of #6, although it lacks a distinctive icon for each.
The marketing manager and I continue to debate whether each products should have its distinctive color (as they have in the past) of whether the familial relationship is better served by a consistent color scheme as in several of these designs. Probably leaning toward having different colors. Logos need to also work in black and white.

To set my biases on the table: I'm the Chief Learning Officer for the company and have worked with these 3 products for a long time. I like the idea of a new, modern, and coherent set of logos - the old ones are all over the place. I would like some sort of energy and motion in them - our whole thing is follow-through - but I would like to avoid yet another variation of the Nike swoosh.
Personal reactions for what they are worth: #13 and #14 - Interesting approach and something different, but they leave me with a feeling of "incompleteness" - that something is missing, whereas we try to bill these products as the "complete" solution or as least completing the solution.
#11 strikes me as too tame and a little old fashioned. #10 has a quirkiness I like, but I doubt I can sell my colleagues on the offbeat shapes; bugs me that the R goes backwards since we are trying to drive things forward.
#9 is a little too staid for me; I prefer #8 and #6 of this approach. Font is probably better in #6 although we are stuck with a company logo in times new Roman. Would more dots - as in #5 convey more of a sense of motion, or just muddy the design?
I think the single line treatment is better than the 2 line in #5, although I like that design's use of color.
Bottom line: I think most of these are improvements over what we have today. I would still like to see an effort to convey a graphical sense of forward progression or better yet of follow-through (although I have no idea exactly what that is).
Hope that helps.

liking the color scheme for #4. Matches our latest book, Getting Your Money's Worth from training and development. Similar to templates we've been using. do like same thing with different color like #3 and #4 too.
