Fitness novice looking to hire/buy equipment*** REQUIREMENTS ***
Online store for a gym equipment retailer.
Front page will contain a Wordpress powered blog and components of an online store, we want to build our brand, generate leads and create direct sales through the website.
The site is an online store for a gym equipment retailer and should be designed in a way where a gym owner can easily get to the category they want, but a complete novice won’t be left wondering “where do I go”.
To solve this problem we want the site to consist of easy to navigate to categories, a search function and essentially what is another search function ‘Recommend products based on my fitness level’.
A big feature of the site is the ‘Recommend products based on my fitness level search function’ to make the process of finding equipment easy for a novice, but the site should be designed well enough that an expert can navigate straight to what they’re looking for.
This site will most likely require a 3-column design to accommodate the amount of content.

the left or right column will be categories from the store, and what we would like to see is ~10 or so products listed under a category heading e.g. “Treadmills”, followed by the first 10 models. The opposite column will be used for the usual Wordpress links along with twitter, videos, flickr photo stream, etc.
The middle of the site will contain the afore mentioned ‘Recommend products for me’ search function, here we want to recommend a product that suits their current fitness level and their fitness goals.
After this box there should be a small ‘standard’ search box. Followed by the posts of a wordpress blog.
Header should contain somewhere for banner advertising.
