Contest holder has asked for a refund - "did see some nice entries but not just our style."

I use Adobe Illustrator CS3 to make such logos and i have a good knowledge how light affects certain objects (which i distort, more than often).

Good logo doesn't have to be simple. A logo is a picture that explains your profession and draws attention to it. Tell me, would you first look at a good 3d logo or a good 2d logo? I think most of ppl would be drawn to the 3d look. With Internet rising in its use (online trading) so does graphic design follows, adapts to it's standards. Also, digital prints make such shiny logos possible in printing section, so they're taking toll everywhere.
If grade or Terry, along myself, can express our idea through a more realistic manner, why shouldn't we. It looks good and it's functional. Why do logos have to be made in a ''less is more'' manner when we can change it ''more is better'' and still pack it in a nice, functional package and express ourselves even further than we would in 2d?

Serious question: what software do you use to make 3d logos? #59 is an example (I don't think they're the best option in logo design, but I'm very curious)
