Brief Summary

HI EVERYBODY - I HAVE BEEN OFFLINE BECAUSE MY TWO YEAR OLD SON WASHED MY LAPTOP UP (IN A BIG SINK FULL OF BUBBLES) WHICH HAS THROWN MY BUSINESS AND FAMILY (WITH 5 CHILDREN) INTO CHAOS ......... SORRY.... 99DESIGNS HAVE KINDLY ALLOWED SOME MORE TIME TO GET BACK ON TRACK! PLEASE CONTACT ME FOR ANYTHING FURTHER!

+Today we signed a very exciting new client that will launch our brand nationally (in Australia) throughout more than 60 retail stores, so you'll see more of the winning design very soon!

We are an organic food company that needs a NEW logo that portrays us as organic in principle and practice, while strong in marketing and consumer awareness.

We have seen quite a few designs featuring leaves so far, however feel that perhaps this might not fit FOOD so well. We have operated as B2B (food service) so far and need a big bold and fun launch to retail for our ORGANIC FOOD - many major and recognisable food brands started as small alternative companies and retain their original logo...that's our plan! We have many more projects coming up, including packaging design (x several products), website overhaul and more, so we're keeping some budget to reward our winner with more work!

    Using bitmap images for adverts or billboards are different to using it for a corporate logo.... but if you're comfortable then I guess that's OK :)

    No offense taken sng :).

    I've worked with large format signage which is why I'm comfortable using an image as opposed to vector artwork. Daily we see bit-map based images on the side of trucks, billboards, etc. As long as you have a good hi-res image to work with, and the software and of course, a printer who knows what they're doing, then you're good to go!

    When using photographs/images as part of a logo, you should take it into consideration that the logo will be used in a wide range of material/media and if you have something intricate then it make it difficult to apply it and some elements could be lost. Therefore really you shouldn’t use them as they are bitmaps and when you zoom in, you can see the individual squares that make up the total image which means increasing the size of a bitmap has the effect of increasing individual pixels, making lines and shapes appear jagged so really you should use vectors! It’s also important that we use a Pantone colour to keep the consistency. Hope the CH reads this.

    not quite sure if we can use a photo as a logo .... .eps.ai.bitmap i know it's ok but photo i 'm not sure...

    #119 gets four stars, but my #1 #2 and #3 get eliminated? -_-

    I was told "we think that the use of a plum (fruit) is a little limiting as we do lots of foods (sweet, savoury etc)".
