- Brief Summary
-
We're developers, not designers! We have a wordmark that we like ( http://aliro.org/images/aliro-wordmark.png - horatioDBol size:75 color: #FF3333) but we can't come up with a logo we all like. School us, oh swamis of design!
- Brand Name
- aliro
- Description
-
Aliro is an open source content management system (CMS). Based on the Esperanto word for "access", the goal of our project is to make a professional grade CMS accessible and available to everyone.
The Aliro project (http://aliro.org) started with some foundational elements from the Mambo CMS (http://mamboserver.com) and is starting its next evolutionary step by combining efforts with another Mambo fork named MiaCMS (http://miacms.com). Our goal for Aliro is to become the preferred alternative for Mambo and Joomla based sites. We expect to achieve this goal by delivering innovative enhancements to both core and related extensions that meet the professional and enthusiast needs alike.
The logo should visually depict the merging of of the efforts, with green (miaCMS) and orange (mambo) symbols flowing into a red one (aliro). Goals were that the logo needs to be simple yet convey a sense of innovation and growth, be colorful (web 2.0 pallet) yet be usable in black and greyscale environment.
As a comparison, please review the Mambo (http://mamboserver.com), miaCMS (http://miacms.org), and joomla [another mambo fork] (http://joomla.org).
We are ok with a wordmark changes (size, font, etc) if necessary.
- Wants
-
We will be looking at attention to detail and coherent design. Please submit work that is organized, layered and accurately named. vector format required - layered png preferred, photoshop file format accepted.
Three image types: white background, black background, greyscale version.
- Don't Wants
-
- Complicated designs that try to fit a lot into a little.
- Background patterns that are distracting
- Pixel based artwork.
- Random color selections: Please use your color theory and apply colors that work together - slight changes to the green (miaCMS) and orange (mambo) is ok. Red for the wordmark isn't set in stone - feel free to experiment.
