- Brief Summary
-
The good news: we’ve created a bilingual (English + Chinese) SMS subscription service in Taiwan. The idea is to help people learn English informally, through fun, short lessons that our subscribers receive every two days.
The better news: We’ve got great content across four categories (Idioms, Bible Quotes, Horoscopes, and Pickup Lines) that’s co-written by teams Taiwanese nationals and North Americans.
The bad news: the core of the company is comprised of engineers and English teachers, who are not very good at marketing.
The opportunity: Create a compelling one-pager and help make this service huge!

#7)
- The blue cell phone logo in the footer can be removed.
- The Taiwanfun logo can be expanded to occupy somewhere around 1/3 of the footer space.
- This ad doesn't accentuate the fact that there are different content types. Can this somehow be done without compromising the impact?
- The line "Just text the code to 55818 to subscribe..." should be all on one line.#9)
- This is a great refinement from your previous submissions. We like the stock photo, we like the different subscription types dancing around her head.
- The text "If you use Taiwan Cellular..." can be pushed into the fine print section.
- The Taiwanfun.com logo should be bigger.
- Can we see two versions? With and without the blue cartoon cell phone guy. -

"Fine print" is the area at the bottom of many advertisements, documents, or web pages that contains legal information, disclaimers, or anything else that needs to be included but doesn't need to be prominent.

A few comments on the works that have already been submitted. First of all, thanks to FootPrints, gw210, and shatteredfx who have taken the initiative to get designs in early for review. Much appreciated.
- My comments above were in reference to an early version of #6
so here goes:
#4, #5)
- This ad doesn't pop off the page make me want to sign up for the messages immediately. It needs to.
- The images for tw3 and tw4 are really good, but tw1 and tw2 (to me) don't convey the content very well.
- The signup process is good (particularly the arrows to show the flow of messages), but takes aup a little too much space
- There is too much text on ad. I'd rather have a few important words stand out than try to include all of the proposed marketing copy.
- I like #5 (no blue bar at the top) better than #4#6)
- Great improvement from the first version
- I really like what you've done with the sign up instructions.
- Maybe the rest of the text (to the left of the phone and to the left of the instructions) can somehow be shortened and jazzed up a little
- The couple in the pickup lines image is still too old.#7)
- I like this one because it's a significant departure from the old ad, and shows what else is possible.
- Out of the first few that have been posted, this one "grabs" me the most and makes me want to sign up.
- It doesn't have the graphical depiction of the signup process. Can this somehow be incorporated without ruining the great impact of the design? -
