Lovely design Allie - was watching the contest and liked it from the start :-)

I do have to agree with the others though, $250 is the bare minimum, recommended is $400 which is much closer to market prices, but as you say, it is up to the individual whether they participate. When I first started here it was $150 and thankfully after a long time of lobbying by designers to admin staff, it was increased. I strongly believe that it should go up again - too many contests ask for way too much in their brief to make the min. worthwhile - contest holders also need to be educated that a decent design is worth paying for... :-) If you go through the contest list, you'll see that a lot of $250 contests have minimum participation, especially by the designers who have been here a while - there has to be a reason for that :-)

the money is for how much time you spend on it, you want a good one? pay a higher price.. you want a banged up one, then pay 250$ for 2 hours work and you will see the difference

I don't think the money prize is low at all. She asked for only a home page design mockup. That's it. $250.00 is not a jip, and if you feel like it is, then I encourage you not to participate in the contests that you don't agree with the prize money.

Seriously, for a one page home design mockup, what do designers consider reasonable to start off with . . . $500.00? Realistically, we as the designers are should not be jipping clients.

Also, thank you to the contest holder for choosing me as winner. You've been great to work with.

TWD you should at least send all designs to your client before dismiss rest of us, many of us spended lots of time and effort for a low prize contest

Everyone: The buy now will go to a shopping cart so there is no need for a form anywhere on the site.
