- Brief Summary
-
CryptoPeer is a file sharing site aimed at business users. The site features some innovative uses of cryptography to ensure that users' files are always encrypted on the server, and can only be decrypted on the user's desktop. CHECK OUT OUR WEBSITE CONTEST TOO.
- Brand Name
- CryptoPeer
- Description
-
While there are many file sharing services around, some of which even tout being secure, none of them really are. Users' files are always stored unencrypted on a server, in someone else's datacenter. CryptoPeer is a file-sharing service with a difference. Using only their webbrowsers users are able to encrypt files before uploading, and decrypt before downloading.
CryptoPeer features integration with popular third-party business applications like 37Signals' Basecamp and SalesForce.com .
The service is being targeted at business users, and as such must be fresh enough to count as Web 2.0 , but still no-fuss enough for the business crowd.
The service is Peer-to-Peer in the sense that members of the service can securely send files between each other. It is however a sender-pays model, so account signups are free, but file-sending is chargeable.
