for the contest Ultima Hosts Logo
Submitted design #119
I chose a font that conveyed gravitas without stuffiness. It has presence. For the symbol, I wanted to suggest motion and data transfer without being so literal as too show arrows, also using the H form to connote nodes or units. The color scheme is rich whilst avoiding the stereotypical blues and greys. Naturally, this can be amended to suit your taste. Let me know if you need any further adjustments. Or, if you hate it completely. Thank you.
Colors are nice. Symbol is too abstract.

Kept the same colors here, but tried for a less abstract icon. The cross bar of the "h" was how I incorporated the arrows, ie, data transfer. To follow is a variant with different colour scheme. Thanks.

Blue-ish colour scheme
Still too abstract.

I took your cue from other contestant feedback in regards to the internal arrow motif, and also my tendency towards figural abstraction, and came up with these two gems. I realize the bottom version might be stepping into Zhao's territory a bit, but in my version, the letter form icon is handrawn, and not derived from an exisiting font, and I avoided the tilting approach, which reminded me of a bugle for some reason. Anyway, hope these put me closer to your vision.

I've put away the hand bags and gone for another round. Two versions, each with a variant enclosing an "H". I simplified the font and made it less stylistic than my earlier versions. I think the U-wave implies enough of the data motion without becoming too abstract. You may disagree, but I didn't want to give so quickly. Either way, thanks for the interesting contest. Cheers.

Not what we are looking for.
