    Ok ... see :
"# Am I allowed to use clipart? ¶

No — unless you own the copyright to the images you're thinking of using. Clipart is copyright to its creators! Don't use any content you don't own the rights to. Believe me, today's courtrooms are pretty boring places, and we all know what a pain those legal fees can be. "

    # Make sure it's yours!

Make sure the work you are submitting is your own and that you are legally entitled to post it. If you are using any stock images in your design, make sure that you inform the contest holder that they will need to purchase licenses.

For everyone that likes to argue: I tend to think that a real designer would find it very hard to invest valuable time and skills on the slight chance they will make money on a website such as this.

This is of course opposed to a professional that actually gets paid for their time.

None the less, it is no surprise to me that most things here are not original and not professional because of that fact. It is not surprising either that someone not familiar or educated in proper design would try to pass off something grabbed from the internet as their own here for a quick buck and try to fool people.

Its unfair as there is no real education process here for a client on how to actually pick a good logo and even decipher what a good logo is beyond personal tastes. I think if you are educated it should be your responsibility to help the client and not just hand it over and expect them to choose.

If copying is spotted, you have the right to point that out without any argument. Someone that steals something, a graphic or an idea should give credit where due. Its such a shameful thing, to do this without guilt and actually consider it your work. It astonishes me. Its probably the lowest form of thing you could do in general, it is a form of stealing and it really doesn't benefit you in the least, especially when you decide to call yourself a designer it really proves you have a lot to learn.

I don't think there is any argument against this, you should be grateful someone is pointing this out at this phase and not having a client that is being sued coming to you for an explanation.
