Brief Summary

We are a startup company with two patents pending for a revolutionary new snowboard design. We need a cutting-edge, yet professional website design that will communicate the look and feel of who we are and what we will do - which is to introduce the next generation snowboard to the world. Once the website is completed, we will begin a multimedia marketing campaign to introduce our patent-pending design to the world snowboarding community, which will include press releases and direct marketing of our product to industry magazines, newspapers, manufacturers, distributors, retailers, websites, and end users - all of whom will directed to our website. Please read our company profile for more information about our product.

Great idea ten dimes. I'll do that. There is just too much confusion going on about doing both (design and coding). I tried to revise the contest to do design only, but it would not let me. So, I am going to end this contest and create a new, design only contest - with a higher design only prize amount ($800 instead of $600). I will negotiate for the coding after a design is selected.

NOTE TO ALL DESIGNERS: IF YOUR DESIGN HAS NOT BEEN ELIMINATED - PLEASE RESUBMIT YOUR ENTRY TO THE NEW CONTEST!

Sorry about all the confusion everyone. I'll get it right this time. Thanks for your patience . . .
I look forward to seeing you at the new Design Only contest.

    Suggestion:

Start with just the design on here. Then outsource the coding elsewhere.

The pricing is low, but it isn't bad. If you run the site on a CMS like wordpress or expressionengine you should be fine.

Upliftin: thanks for your input. This is my first web design contest - so I am quite unfamiliar with how things are done. However, there will be no login, no search, no database, etc. It will be an informational site with very little content. Except for the Home Page, the content for each page will be minimal, with perhaps only a paragraph of text on each page.

I thought the new pricing was fair - but I will ask around. If it is not, I will revise the contest.

    Thanks . . .

hmmm It is still not enough prize for coding IMO. Its a lot of work just to make a design, and then to code it is just as much work. And if you want loging, search functionality, database driven etc etc, the list goes on and on, so i would be VERY suprised to find anyone do a full website design and coding of this specification for $1200. Just IMO of course.

    Anyway good luck.

@ Nadia: Good point. Thanks for the info - this is my first web contest.

So, the prize amount will be changed to the following: $1200 for both design and coding & $600 for design only.

    Thanks,

    Randy @ Storm

6 pages coded to standards for $850? that brings each design/code page to approx. $140 per page... that's less that a one page design template where the minimum is $250 per 1 page design.

PS There really is no coding category at 99designs at the moment, you should be holding a design only contest (with appropriate prize offered the number of pages required) and then negotiating with the designer as an added extra (if they are coders as well - many here are not).

    Hi all,

    Great questions!

I just revised the brief to include coding - and increased the prize amount as well. Please note that design-only entries may still be submitted for a reduced prize amount. Please read the updated brief for additional information and coding details.

To answer Turquoise's question: what makes this board so different and appealing is that no boots, bindings or straps are needed. You can just throw it down, jump on, and go - just like a skateboard. You can stand anyway you want (forwards, sideways, or backwards), and can surf the snow as it was meant to be done - with no pain and total freedom. Best of all, our board is so easy and simple to ride, anyone can do it. The market for our product then, is anybody and everyone. However, initially our marketing will be targeted to snowboarding industry executives, company owners, and investors (to purchase or license the rights to our patents) as well as to media sources such as industry magazines and websites to get some good PR going.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks,

    Randy @ Storm Snowboards
