hello, this is my idea for this contest. this is a very basic i can still develop this logo further more with style and color, i need more sleep! i've been online for all night for a contest, i didn't win ...

The eye in the hand thing feels a little too conspiratorial, too mystical for a site that often advocates secular humanism. It's definitely cool looking, but I just don't think it fits Symbolic Order's theme.

That's much better than the first one. It's really striking and I like that a lot. The only thing that isn't working for me here is the typeface. I'm into the overall style of it, but the S and Y just look kind of odd and somewhat difficult to read.
As to your question, I lean more towards eye catching than formal, certainly. I want something that's immediately recognizable and memorable -- which is why I like this entry's hands graphic.

Hello, other possiblity of the hand. it forms the S and you definitely know where the O. as for my entry no.2, i'll change the typeface immediately. i'm not connected to the net directly, so i haven't read your feedback when i create my entry no.3. thanks

At first glance I didn't like this one as much as the prior but, the more I stare at it, the cooler I think it is. Can I see what it looks like with some color in it?
The hidden S is very neat.

1. Change the font.
2. The upper right is the graycale version.
3. Bottom right is the black and white version.
4. Bottom left for small version of the logo.

Huh. I'm totally torn. I think I may actually like this one more than Entry 6. But I don't know. Those hands are just super striking. And kind of scary.
