- Brief Summary
-
Please read the brief to wrap your head around this one. I suggest organizing by rating to see my favorite works so far.
We need a good name, logo and tagline that conveys some information, even if abstractly, about our business. The information could be about what we do or the benefits of using us.
We've though of a few things, but aren't settled on any of them. I am extremely open to all ideas. The ideas below are just ideas - you should not feel constrained or limited by them. Here are a few taglines, and logo ideas we brainstormed:
Logos that say "We Provide a Corporate Façade"
My rough drawing depicts a building rotating around a house (click Read the Brief to access a PDF sketch) - the idea being that we provide a corporate façade to home based businesses. A house morphing into an office would convey a similar message.or
Logos that say "Here, Your Small Business is Part of a Connected Network" - maybe a tree with homes and offices and other symbols on it could reflect the interconnectivity of home and work and other small businesses. There is also a play on words that could be incorporated regarding "branch offices."
Flowers with bees on them surrounding a bee hive;
Logos that convey our technological advantage:
A phone on wheels that looks like a car; a lap-top acting as the roof of a house;Logos that covey the lifesytle advantages of a virtual office (no commute; working from home; someone elese hiring and managing your staff; etc.)
man in a recliner on top of a hectic business scene (maybe a frantic receptionist); image of a house on left (done in a calm color), black line down center, black or red office building on right;
a board room in a living room (a play on words - "Welcome to your bored room" (board spelled incorrectly on purpose) - Actions

I just wanted to thank everyone that participated in this contest. Deciding on one logo was actually a very hard decision for us. We were quite torn. A huge thanks goes out to falconrebel, ocp, design pres, and cafemocha for your great entries. I appreciate everyone's willingness to present such thoughful works. And of course, Geca, the contest winner.
A bit of insight on why we chose the winning design...
Geca's combined works made up a visual story that clearly illustrated a picture of our business. Through the usage of his combined works (#93, #84, #85 and #39) we will be able to not only launch a new corporate logo, but a new brand. We have decided to commission three more of Geca's works to use as visual marks for our product offers. Geca's usage of consistent style and execution among his series of designs was not only technically difficult, but conceptually clever. Our requirements for a literal logo that still looked futuristic and energetic was difficult to say the least.
In the end, my suggestions to any and all designers are to think past the logo and grasp a clear vision of the brand foundation that we are trying to build. Try to envision the business model, and marketing plan in your head. Then put connect the vector points or pixels to sell a story, an image, an experience.
To many of you, this is old hat. To some of you, this may be a road less traveled. To all of you, much thanks. I hope to see you in my future contests. Take care, and be well.

I will say that a lot of the designs look very much like Microsoft Office, and I don't want people to be confused. If the logo looks too much like business software and not like business services... it might fail. Overall... there are many nice designs here.
In a nutshell, we need a logo that shows what we do - we enable people working from home to have a complete corporate facade... business address, plus corporate office space when they need it, and all the services a business requires (phone numbers, receptionist, etc.)
Turn your home into a corporate environment, plus hook into network of other businesses to receive reciprical discounts among members. This is why we thought of taking a house and turning it into an office building. Good luck and thank you so much for your hard work and time.
