for the contest Logo for reverse auction site - Pujalia.com
Submitted design #34
Fun and friendly looking design. Concept based on a person bidding at real life auction, using the card you hold up to place a bid, the icon is the same card with a 'p' inside.
Hello Defunkt! Great entry!
Just some coments. First, I don't really love the font face. Second, the white background version has too many colors (black+blue+rane). I'd go for something like the black version (gray+green only). Also, I don't like the "p" inside thecard. It's different from the "p" used in the logo and reminds me one of those AIDS ribbons. :-) Maybe we could try with some coins, a mobile phone (sms bidding), a hammer, a brain (intelligent bidding) a... Whatever you like. The more ingenious you can be here, the better.
I love the idea of the "i" converted into a person bidding in Pujalia. Simple and smart!
Will be waiting for your next submissions! Thanks!
no problems will make some more iterations for you...glad you like the concept of the bidder...hope no one else "lifts" it. :)
Submitted design #38
Logo revised.
Different font. Hammer inside bid card, the three lines there represent, the hammer as it falls *bang* and also the shock of the bid card, at winning auction at low price.
Great! Just one more iteration... I still don't love the font. Could we try something more wide?
Also, if you could send your previews in bigger format that would be great. It's really difficult for us to appreciate logo's full potential. Don't worry about IP, as the winning domain will be used in Pujalia.com and you will be able to see it publicy. Thanks.

another iteration with font face changed. If you wish any more iterations/alterations just let me know.
Mick.

another iteration, changed fontsize and increased resolution of image.
Thanks a lot Defunkt. I'm loving this, but I think we still don't find the right font. Do yo think you can submit one iteration with several font types so we can find the "perfect one"? :-) Sorry for not being more clear on the font I wan't, but I'm not really sure. Thanks!
By the way, could you change the slogan to "PUJA MÁS BAJO"? That's bid low in Spanish. Thanks.
its no problem at all, ill get a few versions up in the one submission a.s.a.p.
Submitted design #51
another iteration with two more fonts.
Submitted design #52
another.
Awesome! :-)
I love from #52 the first one. I think you only need to review the slogan. It looks too near to the "j" to me. You should reduce the space between letters. Maybe you could also try to use the same font than in the logo (of course much much thinner), but of this I'm not sure.
Also the arm of the user bidding is touching the "a", but it's too subtle. I prefer how this particular effect looks in #52, in the second logo.
Finally, I think we could still improve how the hummer looks. Maybe we can try something more "vectorial". I'm not sure if you know what I mean.
Thanks for so many iterations and such a great work!
Submitted design #56
made the arm over the 'a' less subtle, altered the hammer.
Also edited the tagline font.
Thanks Defunkt!
Sorry for making you change the hammer. It looked better in #52, so (0) let's go back to the first hammer. Here are my (hopefully) last comments.
On the bidding-guy, we think it doesn't look all the human it could. Maybe we can (1) make the point over the "i" (the head of the bidder) round, so it looks like a human head. Also, I think we could (2) move down a bit the whole arm (so it doesn't look it comes directly from the neck), but not too much.
My partners also made some comments on the color. (3) Forget about the blue one. (4) We would like to see the green both over white and black backgrounds. Also, we would like to (5) try with orange to see wich looks better (also both, in white and black backgrounds). Finally, we would also like to see a (6) version in grayscale and another one in B&W as we are not sure how the hammer will look like in this scenario. Looks like a lot of work but it's mostly a colors thing, so I hope it doesn't take you too long. For the grayscale, feel free to use or delete the color gradient so you feel comfortable with it.
We'll be waiting for your revisions.
Thank you very much!!

This one is a bit packed tried to get it all in there :)
Hope you like it.
Thanks
Mick
Mick, thanks for the fast reply. This is just perfect. I will come back to you if any of my partners have any comments, but now it's perfect to me.
Are you comfortable with the design? Would you make any changes? Is there anything you feel could be improved? If so, feel free to make any additional fine-tunning changes you want as a new entry. We love your creativity.
In any case, please, stay tuned for the election of the winner in 2 days.
Thanks!
Id say im more than happy with how the logo looks!
The important question is how do you and your partners feel about it.
Hopefully the answer is, they love it :)
Thanks
Mick.
