Thanks a lot for your designs, all of you put a lot of hard work into this. Each design is highly appreciated. From all the designs you've sent I picked the following 8 designs from 6 designers for the final round:

The top four are currently in best shape with the other four slightly behind. But nothing is set in stone and I'm not fixed on any particular one. Also it is not yet too late for something completely fresh and new.

For the finalists:
As mentioned in the design brief this graphics will be used in several formats for different occasions. Let's take a look how your designs would work in the real life. I have prepared some screenshots of where the design is going to be used and I'd like to ask you to apply your designs to the four following scenarios:

1. Android launcher icon [http://bit.ly/xVtky6]
- Not much to say here - 72x72px icon to be placed among other icons.

2. Android market page on the mobile device
- Two versions (one on mid-res device [http://bit.ly/yrURGB] and one on high-res device [http://bit.ly/AiT9BB]). Please replace the icon with your concept. The screenshot is of some random app, change only the icon - the rest is not important.

3. Featured page on the device ( [http://bit.ly/zV0niX] , [http://bit.ly/x9a31l] ) and web page in the market ( [http://bit.ly/y5HsSp] ). Here the tricky bit is the 1024x500 high-res image. I know was not mentioned in the original brief (I realized about it later) and I don't want to change the rules in the middle of the game so you may skip this entire point if you want. I would not expect anything too fancy, the logo in high-res with "Solitaire Champion" text on the right side of the icon should do it for example. Or anything you find suitable based on the original design. Google's guidelines [http://bit.ly/sQ5Ch2] also mention 180x120 'promotional graphics'. This could be just primary graphics but dedicated version adjusted for this size would be a plus.

4. The monochrome alpha-blended version for the game's canvas. It should be monochrome so that can be converted to any color and should be semi-transparent so that can be applied over the plain canvas. For the purpose of the presentation should be in the tone as in this example [http://bit.ly/ADBZmM]. It can be square in shape but preferably horizontally rectangular. Please try to provide those mockups - having design that I will be able to use consistently in all those places is very important for this project.

I hope I don't ask for too much, having this will help me a lot with deciding on the final one. Also please send me a message about the format in which you would provide the design. In the spec I stated that it should be preferably scalable vector graphics or raster. In case this is not svg I'd expect it to be in some format preserving layers of the design so some further modifications are possible if needed. Please let me also know what font was used in the design and whether it's something I'd be able to use to be consistent with the icon.

I have to say the remaining designs are all good so the choice won't be easy. I appreciate this extra work I ask you to put into it.

Hello everyone, thanks for your designs - each one is appreciated. This is to remind that the qualifying round ends in less than 24 hours. There's still time to come up with a new fresh style. After that time it will be mostly about polishing the few contender designs and making sure they look well in all required scenarios as defined in the design brief.

Note to everyone - even though in the original requirements stated vector graphics is required I can accept high-res raster graphics (still with preference to scalable vector). The original should be at least in 1000x1000 px so that it can be effectively scaled down to various resolutions up to 512x512.

jetsetgolden - I believe it was as per comment below. The design is withdrawn now and I can't see it anymore to recall more details.

Please remember that this should be an icon looking well in various resolutions starting from 36px. I expect the graphics to be 'resembling' cards/suits and all designs so far treat it too literally. It shouldn't have too many details that won't look good as an icon.

As an inspiration here's a couple of apps that have nice looking icons. But please, please treat it as an inspiration and not try to copy any of them.
