To the person who reported my shield:

I did not use that tamplate, seems like the designer who made the picture in the brief used that. I made mine totally by myself according to that one. I didn't even know there was a template, because I have not googled for a shield like you. So here is my shield in .psd, I'm sure you can find a lot of differences, it's not that professional though as the template...

    so here is the link:

ps. sorry for my possible mistakes, I'm not a native English speaker.

I'm not convinced the winner will incorporate the shield theme, so please don't focus entirely on the "american shield.jpg" emblem.

The icon will have a white background, so a black or grey border is best to create contrast.

Please see attached "american shield.jpg" file for an example of another design direction focused around a shield or emblem. Thanks again for your entries.

More corporate/professional interpretations are welcome. Using white text with a black outline, or black text may help and would better match with our "banner" pic (see attached, "AOCIbanner.jpg"). Thanks again for your entries.

User should be able to recognize the basic design when the image is only 16x16 pixels, but the acronym does not need to be legible at 16x16 pixels.

The acronym AOCI needs to be clear when the image is 50x50 pixels, and the image also needs to support a 360x360 pixel version.

To clarify my last comment, icon needs to match the community banner in general style and color scheme. Thanks again for your entries.

Design should appeal to both our military and corporate community members. Thanks for your entries.
