Wes Martin Literature
Self publishing author's novel- fiction/comedy
Entertainment & The Arts
I need an ebook cover for publishing my book on Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing. Thus, I only need a front cover. My book is a coming of age tale about a young, hapless romantic who ventures to Los Angeles and plays detective to track down his runaway girlfriend/lost love. He is white, pale skinned, dark haired, early twenties. In his quest to find her and reclaim his love, he becomes manipulated and entangled by a number of shady characters in the underbelly of LA and ultimately comes to discover that his love has more to do with his own capacity for it than it does with the girl or object of it. Anyway, it's a dark comedy, so some type of noir, gonzo detective mystery style cover would be cool. Something with a silhouette or sketch of a shadowy character with a handgun before the skyline of LA might work. Otherwise, anything you have in mind could also work. I'm open to ideas. The title should read: "No Place for Love in Los Angeles" and also include "a novel" and "by Wes Martin". Also please use the following review quote: "Drugs, porn shoots and heaps of urban squalor ooze in this gonzo coming of age saga." -Kirkus Reviews UPDATE: Please keep in mind that this is a COMEDY and the cover should not be entirely serious in style. Also, if using a figure with a gun such as some type of James Bond like silhouette, I would keep it smaller and not the focal point of the cover. More important aspects are city skyline, palm trees, and a sense of a comedy and noir.
